This
begins my review of DuckTales. At this time I am planning on reviewing
every episode chronologically but that may change. As for know, the premiere
episode of the five part pilot.
As the episode begins we see Scrooge diving thru his money while pontificating his famous lines from Only a Poor Old Man.
Scroge then whips out his.. what looks like an old fashioned stopwatch, yet emits an electronic beeping nose.
As Donald and the boy. s embrace Scrooge rolls up in a taxi, and tips the driver in cheese? Oh well, found a use for it anyway.
At Scrooge's mansion Scrooge tells Duckworth( yes we all know Duckworth's name makes no sense) to take the boy's bags upstairs to the room they've prepared.
Well the boys are so enamored with Donald's literal descriptions of navy life they decide to emulate "Unca Donald's" heroics... In the living room.
At the bin Scrooge allows the boys to look around without touching anything, soooo they immediatley begin fishing in the money bin. Why, Scrooge would rather face all the beagle boys!!!!!!!!! Introducing....

Scroge then whips out his.. what looks like an old fashioned stopwatch, yet emits an electronic beeping nose.
Scrooge exclaims that he's late and exits the money bin, but not before another rather strange gag. He pauses to knock a coin out of his ehhhhhh... Ear?
We see Scrooge head down to his appointment, stopping along the way to insult a worker collecting money for the poor, Salvation Army style, and grabbing more than his fair share of cheese samples.
darker side aside from his retort that the poor aren't worth giving money to. So down at the docks we find Donald in his new navy duds bidding farewell and admonishing his nephews to behave.
Despite Scrooge's objections to Donald's departure ( Am I the only one who thought Huey, Luey and Dewey's staying with Uncle Scrooge seemed like a bit of a surprise to the old geezer?) than again Donald's notification of his nephews was no less sudden
But alas! This life of luxury is not all it at first seems!!!!!!!!!
Scrooge has been keeping the boys in the attack for three days with Duckworth deliverying food to there room.Man... Anyhow things look promising as Duckworth presents a letter from "Unca Donald"... Albeit a rather fictionalized tale of how great the navy is, including the beginning of his strained relationship with Admiral Grimitz.
Needless to say mayhem ensues, prompting Scrooge to head off to the money bin. The nephews view Scrooge's departure viewing this as an opportunity to "talk to him." Duckworth informs the boys of Mr Mcduck's strict orders, but well.....
